MACRO READ
THE RANK HELD INTO THE CATALYSTS.

Sunday's Index Rank put all three indexes on a down bias for the week and set the invalidation lines at the prior week's highs: Dow 51,845, S&P 7,632, Nasdaq 30,807.75. The read was that a loaded catalyst slate, CPI, the Fed decision, and PPI, would land into a tape sitting in fragile structure, and that those downside levels would define the week. Through Thursday's close the read held on all three. Not one index posted a daily close above its invalidation level, and each finished the Monday through Thursday window below where it opened the week. Bias confirmed, invalidation intact.

This is an abbreviated Mid-Week Read. The scorecard below is the part that carries: three directional calls, three that held into Thursday. Friday is informational only and does not score. The catalysts the Sunday brief circled still own the back half of the week, and the late-week tape is where the next leg gets decided. The full brief returns Sunday.

The Read

Three calls, three holds. Sunday ranked every index lower and set the invalidation lines at the prior week's highs. Through Thursday, not one of those lines broke on a closing basis, and the bias held in all three. That is what the rank is built to do: define the levels before the catalysts hit, then let the tape prove or break them. This week it proved them. Friday's data and the weekend headlines set up Sunday's next rank.

The job of the Sunday rank is not to predict the news. It is to draw the levels that matter before the news hits, so you are not reacting blind when the catalysts land. This week all three indexes respected those levels into Thursday. When the lines hold, you trade with the structure. When they break, the break itself is the signal. Either way you are not guessing.

Abbreviated week on my end. The receipts still post. Three for three into Thursday, scored the same way every week, win or lose. Full brief Sunday.
